    A WW2 US M1A2-1-1 Non combatant Gas Mask.The complete unit I would feel less may-be decontamination powder.
    I would like to thank very much a fellow WRF member for "issuing" me the carry bag and instruction pam for the respirator.Cheers mate.

    as a precaution treat all pre 90's gas masks that they will have asbestos

    Yes, that would be a fair statement. I ask the question due to customs restrictions and such..

    Very nice mask I imagine these are quite uncommon in Australia?

    Regarding the asbestos, I'm not too sure if these filters contain it or not as I've not done any tests on Second World War US Gas Mask filters, however I would say that it is a high possibility that they do. The golden rule with gas mask filters is that if its expired, and/or you don't know the filters history it should be considered unsuitable to breath through.

    I just bought this same gas mask at a estate sale today. I never thought about the asbestos aspect. Thank you for the information about the asbestos.
