US Pick mattock; carrier loop and handle maker?

Article about: I have two sets of pick mattocks with carriers, both have this loop instead of hooks that attaches to the belt. One carrier is dated 1944 and the other 1945. Seen before? I'm also trying to

    I've shopped there a number of times, but that's off topic.

    Interesting though, that there's no information anywhere about this version, not that I've found anyway.

    The hook is post-war modification done by one of the European armies - Dutch, Belgian, Dannish, Norwegian?

    I'm starting to believe it might actually be a Swedish modification, just got another one today where the seller claims it's Swedish army surplus.
