Quite plentiful, at least over here anyway - and of late,
sold as surplus from Denmark I believe - heavily
coated in thick green paint.........

That ones been stripped of the paint. You can see some of the green paint in the wood.

Nice folder they were originally OD painted I had one in the early 70's US Army dated 45 and had been no doubt post war painted green over the WW2 paint. I have a Ames 44 just like that one with most of it's green paint left. timothy
