Just a quick from an ex-soldier!! your compass/first pouch is on your right shoulder strap!! if & when you come to place your weapon butt into your shoulder that wont help you!!!.. I dont know too much about what would go into the butt pack!! But maybe rations,spare socks, foot powder,poncho,shovel,etc any other creature comforts for 24 hours...Mind saying that probably about another 300 rounds 5.56mm. Cheers Terry.

Mind it is a nice set up!! I might try & get myself a set!! I used to have this beltkit when I was a lad, & sold it off like a banana brain!!Brings back fond mermories in the 80s...doing "Army camping"..cheers Terry.

Nice gear. I think I would put on the red lens insert on the flashlight. If you take off the bottom cap, you will find a red lens filter, a blue lens filter and a spare light bulb. There is also an extension "ring/spacer" that can be used on the "light" end, but we always kept it on bottom. In the small compartment this created we would keep stuff like matches or salt so that they would not get wet.
