I'm afraid no date or location, but. HMS Ceres spent most of the interwar years in the Mediterranean as part of the 3rd light cruiser squadron with the my guess it was taken somewhere like Malta or one of the Greek islands

Superb pictures, thanks for showing them.

Thanks for letting know Ed!
By the way, I like the asbestos on the Lewis gun slings in your your first picture. Talk about about lung cancer...

Absolutely fantastic photos. Here's one of HMS Ceres (my RNR unit's predecessor) landing party wearing 19 pattern
Below is another interesting shot of the Royal Navy Coast Watch wearing 08 webbing with BD and caps. I'd love to put this one together for reenacting!

Hi all
Great photo's, love these sort of pic's, they show the "reality" as opposed to the "book".
As regards the one's posted by Ed, I make models in my spare time and I can just imagine the comments along the lines of "oh no, that didnt happen" etc if I was to do a model based on the last photo of the Naval Coast Watch group. Naval headdress, 08ptn W/E, BD with Naval pattern anklets, SMLE's and Lewis Guns.......Brain cells are ticking on this one!
Regards etc
