Unknown strap with hooks. Rock Island Arsenal 1904.

Its a Canteen strap...the round type.The snap hook goes through the eyelet on the cartridge belt and the two hooks hook onto two loops on the canteen.

Believe it is for the cavalry mcclellan saddle. Made just east of me at the Rock Island Arsenal. Lot of them have been turning up around here last 10 years. Someone must found some n.o.s. Stored away in some corner of the warehouse. Still neat and in great shape.
