I was quite lucky as to the prices of things, especially the no 5 bayonet. i should have had the courage of my convictions and bought the vickers hmg, it finished at £1100. which seems cheap to me. But I don't think it would go in my office.

Good purchases there. The last time I saw a Vickers on sale, it was £3,500! Incidentally, I once had a client who had a Vickers set up in his hallway with the barrel pointing toward the front doorway. Every time he had a potential buyer for his house come to view, he took it out to his barn and turned his SS Schirmutze collection back to front so that people "Would not be offended". (!) Bonkers, or what?
