All 'gratitude' is stuck in a photo album .... most missing .... but some legends are dated 1947 ... I do not think that he is killed in combat. Thanks again for your help Igor !
Philippe, of course he was not killed in combat. Maybe I should have elaborated on this.
It is one of cases when a man was declared KIA, but later appeared to be alive. This is one of those war stories when a wife/mother receives a death sertificate ("pohoronka"), but keeps wating for the man. And he eventually turns up!
The scenarios how this could happen are numerous. I lately had 4 researches where this was the case. Usually it involves some kind of dramatic event like encirclement, downed airplane, or severe wound. This created some paper work discrepancies.
F.ex. KOLYADAs name is still in the list of the common grave. I will try to get the photo...

Gratitude n ° 362 of 5 May 1945: Taking of the city and the naval base of Swinemunde in the Baltic Sea.
Philippe, can you read anything on the stamp? Or maybe if you post better scan of the stamp we can identify him. For now there are too many people to choose from.
