    Short description of personal combat feat or accomplishment

    Private P.V. Usatov has served as a cobbler since April, 1943.

    Comrade Usatov was entrusted with the delivery of equipment from the Army’s warehouses on wheeled and tracked transportation during the refitting of personnel in conditions of the Dnepr battle, the battle for Kiev, and refitting of personnel during the 1944 summer plan, making deliveries and protecting them, disregarding the extensive time required night and day to assist the warehouse supervisor conducing item issue and protection.

    He is caring and avoided any incidents of spoilage.

    He is deserving of the Combat Service Medal.

    Signed Deputy Division Commander for the Rear Area Major Zhamgaryan.

    Endorsed Commander, 180th Rifle Division, General-Major Kindyukhin on 2nd September, 1944.

    Documents group to submachine gunner Vasiliy Alekseevich Kavtaradze (ethnic Georgian)

    Soldier Booklet initially dated April 30th, 1945 indicating his front-line service beginning as a sub-machine gunner in the 267th Guards Rifle Division, then the 231st Rifle Regiment as a sub-machine gunner on the 2nd Belorussian and 2nd Ukrainian Fronts. He was a POW from March 26th, 1943 to April 17th, 1945. As a token of thanks for his service he was then sent off to fight against the Japanese on the Transbaikal Front on August 23rd, 1945. A notation indicates he was awarded a Bravery Medal, then demobilized March 20th, 1946. Under "weapons and equipment", page 11, is listed his PPSh and a "shovel".

    Comrade Khristoforov in position Senior Meteorologist since November, 1943. During this time, serving military regiments gave 233 daily weather forecast information to regimental commanders regarding the possibility of a combat operation he made 470 predictions for each of the commanders who were involved in 30-40 combat sorties. All these projections handled completely. 40 times he warned regimental commander of thunderstorms and fog that prevented accidents and catastrophes. Serving the military operation was able to carry out 350 hours of training with staff and 25 hours with flight crews. His life’s work regulates the statutes and manuals.

    Conclusion: For excellent service with the regiment’s battles Comrade Khristoforov is worthy of the governmental award – Medal “For Combat Service”.
