did communist and non-communist partisans in Greece have a big succsess?Were they really helpful to the Allies?

The Partizans in Greece, like in many other countries, had varying amounts of success. They certainly helped tie down German troops that could have been better used elsewhere. But they also suffered from "in fighting" with the different Royalist groups fighting the Communists of ELAS and vice versa.

The British Para Vets I know said they were intially greeted as friends by them. But when civil war erupted in Greece the fighting was very hard and dirty. Human shields were used etc.
