After the Red Army liberated North-East China, Manchuria, they stayed there until middle of 1946.
The Soviets had a special joint zone, with the Chinese, in what is now Dalian area and port. They formed a special joint (military)administrated zone called Luda/Lushun from 1945 to May 1950. Though it was a Chinese controlled area, the economy, banking and currency printing was in Soviet control. Thus the Guandong Bank was formed in April of 1947, first issue came in May 1947 by using Red Army notes with special adhesive stickers printed in the USSR; second issue came in November 1948. The bank was closed and renamed in 1950 to the Dalian Dongbei Branch.
