The holder - private Kuzma Yakovlev, DOB 1895, from Leningrad, a wagon driver with the 2d horsed company, 1007th communications special battalion.
Issued on December 7, 1944. As per his record in this book he was drafted on July 16, 1941, then served with 272d Rifle Division at the Karelian front and he has got bad concussion on August 13, 1941. I've found out those days his unit was engaged in heavy battle with the Finnish 1st infantry division near Petrozavodsk. He then re-joined the army on August 18,1944.In October 1944 his battalion was with 131st Rifle Corps defeating German's 'Norway' Corps in a battle of Petsamo-Kirkiness liberating North-East Norway by October 25, 1944.He was awarded a Medal of Soviet Arctic Defence and then dicharged on June 23, 1945.
