Basically, this card was most likely sent along with a present (possibly that photo) so that his mother, father and god sister would remember him. Things like this were typically written on cards accompanying presents.

Also, is it dated 1939/1940? Because the term Kritsa wasn't really used in the 2nd World War - it was, just not as often as in the Civil War. Also, uniforms make me think civil war and not 1940.
