About a US service man

Hi,

Not sure if this is the right place to ask...how can one trace the service of an individual working in the US war department? I think he was sent either to Europe or Far East...any ideas?

Well one place to start or make some inquiry might be National Personnel Records Center but actual information about the person may be limited to the person themselves or their family members? With the information on the I.D. card, you should have everything needed I would think. What are your intentions? Otherwise they may be able to refer you to a proper source of information, although knowing his specific unit would be even more helpful. Perhaps a notice in one of the veterans organisations newsletters such as are published by The American Legion or The Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW). I see the small postings for information in those magazines each month.
