Article about: Hey guys, Just thought I'd post some wartime pictures of my great uncle Joe. He's 86 now, and he was a tank gunner in the Ayrshire Yeomanry and attatched to the Royal Artillery. He landed in

    A good place to visit with Joe is the RA Memorial at Ver sur Mer , there is a very nice Sexton self propelled gun there as well.

    Tar very much mate! I'll have a good look through that site.

    I just hope we get time to wander freely, as we've book through Ledger Holidays, so I imagine much of it will be guided tours.

    I don't know what I'll be looking at most.... Normandy, or Joes reaction to being back there again! I'm honestly humbled to be going with him!

    Talking of Ver Sur Mer: I know a Vet who's house is named after the village. He had a specially made plaque cast with the name and a stylised Landing craft on it. He was a Royal Marine on Landing Craft on D-Day. He did about 6 runs onto the beach there.
