Jimmy Stewart signed picture, taken at Moffet Field

I picked this up yesterday at an estate sale. Stewart was a flight instructor at Moffet AFB before he was deployed to Europe, where he flew more than 20 combat missions over Germany. I did not know the woman, but I don't think she married Captain Miller, as that was not the name on the mailbox in front of the house. I hope you like it. Jim G.

Hi Ade, I agree on all points. He was extremely humble about his service, and many do not know what he did during the War. He was one of the first, if not the first Hollywood star to enlist after Pearl Harbor. He could have made propaganda films and stayed safe, but insisted on a combat assignment. He also flew in some of the bloodiest raids over the Reich. He was a very good actor, and most definitely a great man. Cheers, Jim G.
