Picked up this press photo of the 'Memphis Belle' recently. Dated August 18th 1943. The press snip on the back is as follows:

PLANE WORKERS AUTOGRAPH "MEMPHIS BELLE"
LONG BEACH, CALIF. - Women aircrafters at Douglas Aircraft's
Long Beach, Calif., plant autograph the "MEMPHIS BELLE",
famous veteran of the air war over Europe. To add a feminine
touch, most of the signatures were made with lipstick.

It's invigorating to see how proud people were contributing to the war effort. One very lucky airplane and brave crew were the rock stars back then, today unfortunately, our heroes are the likes of Lady GaGa. My, my how things have changed. Thanks for posting Adrian.
