Montgomery of Alemein letter.

Evening gents,
Just won this one on the bay, and following "hot on the heals" of my Himmler signature is this nice hand written letter from Field marshal Bernard Montgomery, signed and dated on his personally headed paper. Just need to get a good picture to mount it with now! Leon.

Monty was sick at this period of his life and in fact had prostate surgery in 1964 and his health was never the same after that. He was still recuperating when Churchill died in January 1965.

So his 1964 workload may well have been compounded by ill health. Possibly why he declined Napier Crookenden's invitation? ( assuming it was him )
