Sometime ago I remembered seeing a post by Adrian Stevenson who showed one of his WW2 music sheets showing a jeep. This gave me the idea, (its taken a while to do) of starting a thread to show you a few more examples.
As a collecting field they are still cheap to buy, have great colourful graphic designs and capture the essence of the period. Many sentimental tunes hark back to the good pre war days or look forward to better times in the future, others are great moral boosters showing the brave soldiers, sailors or airmen. Others relate to the thoughts of home the wife or girlfriend or in reverse the husband at the front.
Most were produced as go withs of the popular gramophone tunes of the time, so that you could sing along with them, often used for impromptu sing songs that took place in air raid shelters, tube stations or pubs boosting the moral and creating that camaraderie feeling of we're all in it together.
They look great framed or as a part of a home front collection.

The Amy song is actually written to commemerate her epic flight from England to Australia and is dated 1930, but she was lost during WW2 flying with the ATS so I thought it an appropriate addition to the collection.

An interesting and evocative collection-my grandmother used to sing 'Kiss me goodnight Sgt Major' to me when I was a boy!
