    Hi guys,

This came from a vet's estate in my hometown of Asheville, North Carolina. I think that the photos complement each other very well, and the article is a interesting read. I have a DFC that I plan on displaying with this.

Nice find ! The article is about a P-61 'Night Fighter' Pilot, I think this photo
is also in the book: 'Silver Wings, Pinks And Greens' by Jon Maguire.

In the framed photo, the Officer is wearing an 'Observer' wing,
which probably means the photo is early wartime or pre-war.
    Regards,

    Steve.

Wow, I will have to take a look at that book! I agree with you about the photo. He even looks younger in it.

Correction - I knew I'd seen the photo before ! It's in the book 'Gear Up !'
by the same author - Jon Maguire. You are lucky to have
    found these together !

It is unusual that one would have worn Observer wings throughout
the war, but that was his 'specialty'. Most guys switched to wings
with emblems on them when they became available mid-war,
ie: Bombardier, Navigator, Aerial Gunner, etc.

    Really great find, Mo.........!

( ps - His Obsever wings were made or designed by 'AMCRAFT' )

Awesome! I really have to get this book now. That seriously just made my day. haha

I wish now that some of his uniform items would have been up for sale. Unfortunately this was the only WWII-related item available. If anyone finds a uniform named to a Lt. William Adams then let me know!
