I made this web page several years ago just to post war time pictures taken by family members. The aircraft pictures were taken at Australian operation air bases in Australia and the others were taken at Bougainville and New Britain Islands. It is my only attempt at a web page so please excuse any errors.

Probably the most amazing thing for me was being able to use google earth and zoom down almost the exact spot
where the photos were taken. In photo No 2 in Simpson harbour, you can see a tall outcrop of rock in the
middle of the harbour and that is easily found in google earth.
The shape of the volcano has changed somewhat.
