Big Ned is right, well done.

He and my father were fast friends; I can remember him visiting our home well through high school. He was married to Barbara Stanwyck at some point.

Of interest, he was only about 5'6" tall, though striking in appearance. He would stand on platforms for love scenes - he laughed about this.

As the starter of this thread, I want to thank everyone.

Going back to the original photograph, my father (on the right), Robert Taylor and - would you believe it - Richard Nixon used to travel back and forth during the war between Kansas City and the West Coast by train, playing bridge at a nickel a point (pretty high stakes then).

    Frog.
