Picked this up the other day for what I consider a very fair price.

It was crusted with what I think was plaster when I got it. It all wiped off with some water and a sponge.

Ricasso markings have been ground off, but it's an early version with the screwed and peened thick pommel and a blued blade.

Sheath is intact and in decent shape, though with a wrinkled tip.

    Thoughts??

I like it, nice used but not abused look.

I'm the same way. All of them are great pieces of history, but the early screwed pommels have their own special juice.

Right? It doesn't even look like it was ever re-sharpened. A few light scrapes, but nothing serious.
