Article about: Hello I have a FB Sykes knife that I picked up recently and not sure it is period? It looks like a 3rd pattern, marked England. Is this a period piece exported after the war? Thank you Tony

    I have a FB Sykes knife that I picked up recently and not sure it is period?

    It looks like a late war or just post war made piece.
    The England stamp shows that it was imported into the US as part
    of the government repayment plan.

    And looks like brass rivets on scabbard, a good sign of wartime made. The No.4 mould is the only die maker identifed; Wolverhampton Die Castings, and they are known to have supplied Wilkinson (though possibly other contractors as well) so there is certainly a chance this is Wilkinson made, though without inspector marks as expected late wartime.
