Hi all
Can anyone help me with this bayonet please, as I know nothing about it apart from the fact that someone found it on a firing range about 7 years ago.
Thanks

Hi Erica
It appears to be an AK-47 bayonet. Newly made, I would venture to add.

In this world there's two kinds of people, my friend. Those with loaded guns, and those who dig. You dig. CE
I agree with Mark...AK47 bayonet.
cheers, Glenn
I think East German or maybe Romanian. Definitely for an AK.
Whereabouts was it found (US or UK?) and was it a military firing range do you know? Just thinking that it could be a Gulf War bring- back?
Thats a Romanian made AKM Mk2 bayonet. It appears in 'An Illustrated History of Bayonets' Brayley, M, p.191. The author says that the example shown in his book is indeed a Gulf War bring back.
Thanks, chaps.
Spitace41 - without giving too much away, it was found on land used for military firing practice in the UK
Bayonet Poland "M 1959-6H4"
Nice freebie find ;-) It is an AK-74 bayonet, and I'm not quite sure what denotes it as "Romanian", possibly the rubber frog around the scabbard?.
These will fit an AK47 as well ;-) and they are a much nicer looking bayonet that the bulbous handled AK-47 piece.
Here's a few pics of mine, which is Bulgarian, as noted by the "Circle 10" in the grip, there is the last three digits of a rifle or unit number on the other side of the grip.
As was pointed out, this one looks rather new, and doesn't have the sawback mine has. It is also missing the leather strap that goes over the hand, these are often missing unfortunately...
