    Sorry about derailing your question, Lunarphase....but to address it, by my reading of these laws, I would say that, No, it could not legally be done. You could Probably get away with it by declaring it a Tool or instrument,as I've known some people to do, but if they wanted to get silly about it, it could, potentially, end up quite badly....

    I have imported Bayonets from Germany and Poland and the customs declaration clearly stated bayonet, never had a problem!...

    Chopperman gave me some great info, thank you very much.
    There is a lot of grey area with the knives but it can be done.
    Best to use a reputable dealer that has experience in shipping to the UK or other countries. There is of course a fee but in my opinion, well worth it. Roy Shadbolt of Wilkinson F-S Collection was able to help me with his "International Shipping Agent Services (ISAS). He is easily found with a Google search. I'll add a link below
