Looks like it is made from a US M1 carbine bayonet.

Yep its a M4 bayonet, which is basically an M3 fighting knife fitted with a Muzzle ring a latch so that it could be used with an M1, M2 carbine.
On your knife someone has replaced the muzzle ring / cross guard with a field made brass one more in the style of the M3. Plus it a late WWII or post war model Korean model with the first leather washer having been replace with a Tuffnoll fibre / Vinalite type washer in a attempt to prevent the leather rusting against the original steel cross guard.
