All our scabbards were painted black and brass polished from day 1 a basic training....the brass was at the lip of the scabbard.....there is a chromed ce version now used by the the federation guard

I don't know what it is doing Bosnia and Herzegovina.

You Cana strip the paint back on the scabbard, mask off the brass re spray it gloss black and polish the brass to get it back to correct standard......we used to her in so much trouble if that brass wasn't polished...

You could degrease the bayonet handle, clean it up and spray that black to and have a a really nice display
Just give the blade a light oiling
I'm doing the same to one I just picked up recently.....I believe a whole heap of ous were sold to a European country after we decommissioned the SLR

Get yourself either a green webbing or black lacquered webbing frog for it.....green was worn in the field and black lacquered were for parades again the laquering was dome by taking a green one, applying 50 coats of kiwi boot polish and the black lacquer over the top.....the 50 coats of kiwi black boot polish was the army way of keeping us busy
