Article about: Hey guys, I just bought this USA bayonet from an antique store, and I wanted to know more about it. It looks a lot like an M1 bayonet, but it didn’t have the circle that attaches to the end

    Hey guys, I just bought this USA bayonet from an antique store, and I wanted to know more about it. It looks a lot like an M1 bayonet, but it didn’t have the circle that attaches to the end of the barrel.     It looks like a total reworked m1 garand bayonet. The guard has been replaced and shortened.
    It’s now a knife.

    Also, not sure if anybody can see, there is the year 1942 on the front of the blade. Hope this helps anybody

    It might make a useful hunting knife, but it has now lost any value to a bayonet collector. However, enjoy it for what it now is.
