    Interesting find. Not much left really - but it's a nice relic !

    A lot of folks don't know what a Skidder is and will likely
    never see one. My introduction came just over 40
    years ago in the woodlands of Northern Ontario.

    A nice find in the woods ....., except for the driver of the skidder.

    Looks more like a Feller Buncher than a Skidder to Me....lol To me, a Skidder swings out from on the back of a Semi Tractor trailer and loads cut logs onto the trucks...

    (At least, that's how We call them Here in the Northwoods in this neck of the land! All day, the damn noisy things drive past down the highway here-day and night 24/7....)

    probably someone used it as their hunting knife or something and dropped it never to see it again

    A flat tire on heavy equipment is very expensive. It must have been in a fire. The plastic grips missing leads me to believe that.

    Fire? Maybe, or the grips were leather and long ago rotted off.

    Finding it in a punctured tire probably equally pissed someone off.
