I think this is earlier than Vietnam and I would just leave it as it is
What is the crossguard marked? Rich A. in Pa.
1969 Shelby GT-500 King of the Road
Knowledge is power, guard it well.
It's a Camillus. The crossguard is not marked on this one.
The tip has sure got a lot of wear on it.........
Regards,
Steve.
This may be pre vietnam but in the condition its in no point in messing with it !! it is pretty much beyond fixing condition !
Steve what type of knife is it a mark II? I did not pay much for it and I mainly purchased it to fill a reproduction K-bar Sheath as a cheap fix for my USMC display until I can find a nice K-Bar
Yes - Mark 2. During manufacture, the crossguards were
often bent, so just leave it be.........

Steve.
Thanks Steve you seem to know a lot about US knives... but then again you know a lot about everything
Do you know any good knife references or did you just learn from experience?
I have collected knives and bayonets since I was a teenager - US military
blades in particular, and the 'US-M3' is a favourite. 'US Military Knives
Collectors Guide' by Michael Silvey and Gary Boyd is a fairly
good book that covers alot.
I've attended all the militaria and gun shows up here for over 35 years.
Collecting has been a huge passion all my life. When I find something
I'm interested in, I research all the available material I can get
my hands on to learn as much as possible.
Lol - I have quite a lot of books, actually.........
Regards,
Steve.
