The knife has been sharped but overall shape not to bad, nice ww2 period knife

Nice Ka-Bar. Looks like it has seen post-war use, which is not
uncommon. Myself - and I know there are several other
members, use these for camping, fishing etc, though
I carry a 70's model Camillus MK2.
I believe earlier production knives came with
a leather sheath.........

Steve,
Thanks for the input. Should this knife have a leather sheath or is the sheath correct to the knife? I assumed so because the markings matched but this I know little about US knives.

'United States Military Knives Collectors Guide' by Michael Silvey
and Gary Boyd is a pretty decent one. B&W photos only,
but it covers a lot.
There is a series of books no longer in print by M.H. Cole
that used to be the best resource, but today there
are many other good ones..........
