Default Slaz 44 1907 pattern Bayonet?

    Hello to All
I have a P 1907 with frog ,what I know is it's from Austrailia from the SLAZ grip markings . My question is about the blade and scabbard marking's.
On one side of the blade is the date 8 '44 and MA above 1907

on the other side it is marked X OA with and arrow above it .

What does the MA above the date stand for?
and who is X OA ?

    Now for the scabbard?
    It is Marked MANGROVITE '42

    Who or what is MANGROVITE?

Also the blade being marked 8'44 and the scabbard having a '42 date does that mean I do not have a matching scabbard for this blade?

Right in the absence of any other replies I'll have a go at some of it. I don't really know much about them as such so it might need someone else to join it all together though?

MA - Is Lithgow I think - you usually see the Lithgow produced Bren Guns and No4's with MA markings on them so I guess it's something to do with them?

OA - I believe is Orange Arsenal - this may or may not be something to do with Lithgow also, it's not something I know about so would need someone else to confirm or deny this?

The 'X' is more than likely the bend mark from when they tested the blade.

So, maybe, and this is a pure guess, the bayonet was made at Lithgow and the blade was then tested/inspected at the Orange Arsenal which is why it has both arsenal stamps on it?

Sorry it's all a bit vague but I figured it's better than nowt and it might give you an avenue to explore more?

    That you Sir.
I had heard/read of OA refered to as Orange but didn't know what it meant.

So do you know anything about the MANGROVITE marking on the scabbard?

Hello-8/44 indicates manufacture Aug 1944-Lithgow and satellite factories never made Lee Enfield No.4s-only SMLE III & III* rifles plus P1907 bayonets (a number of modified bolo machete & shortened types as well but in very small trials production).
