I may have to review my references for these then Ralph.

From what I read is that the tang is peened or the pin goes all the way through and the use of the thinner pommel.

I even looked at the war time one with a loop and could find no sign of a pin on the opposite side.

Then, there is this example that I made.

There are replacement sheaths available , leather or plastic types . These are great outdoor knives and very tough .
Here is a photo of my Art Kabar , made by an old girlfriend when she was in art school . Made from cast aluminum ,
still have the knife by not the girl . She was a great one and I should have kept her Too !

Cool info, thx Ralph (The pinning differences)

Wow, nice work on the knife, from scratch?

What do you use for a blank, and what steel? Did you parkerize it?

Looks very accurate except for the thinner blood groove, THICK guard too, I like it!

Do you have pics/video of the manufacturing process?

From scratch, tool steel, parkerized at a gun shop, proper construction as in stacked leather washer handle and pinned pommel with through tang construction.
    Unfortunately no video or photos.
This thread is only 115 pages but I have posted more of my work here.

Update on this i got it anyway, cheap and something to fill a gap, it did come with a sheath and as we all knew it confirms a 1970`s version but there is a twist he had another which he sent this one has a lighter strike and a real old sheath he gave me both for $50 i am hoping the latter is ww2 period, first two pics are the 70`s version

This is the one that i am hoping is late war production, no NY Olean on this one
