World War 2 Bayonet?

Hi all,

I'm new to this forum so forgive me if this isn't in the correct place.

I own an Antique shop and have had what I believe to be a WW2 Bayonet come in but I need help to identify it, the piece has quite a bit of surface 'gunk' and I don't want to ruin it's integrity either.

I've taken as best pictures as possible and hope you may be able to help.
