Thank you Adrian. Massive help. I can now spread the word and inform my family of the news.

You don't happen to know where he served ?

    All the best . Gillan

Hi Gillian, no sorry. His service record does not appear to have survived. The Medal Roll only states "Base Detachments RGA" so that is not much help either on finding his exact unit, as you could have researched the unit to find this.

    Cheers, Ade.

    Hi Adrian.

Could you possibly tell me more regarding the Victory Roll 'R.G.A 154' & Page 5421 - Would this link to the 154 Siege Battery, Royal Garrison Artillery?

    Or am I miles away?

I look forward to hearing back.

    All the best. Gillan

Hi again. I did notice that your results came up as Hugell rather than Hugill .

I spoke to my mother and she informs me that the 'George' is correct but she is sure it was Hugill. Any results under the name Hugill George Cooper?

I did type it into a site and there was a Hugill, G Cooper living in Penrith (Cumbria) and another for Westmorland. Which sounds more like it. As the family are from the Cumbria area. Although I was unable to view the document they had on file.

If you are able to re-check your records that would be very good of you.

In the mean time I will do my best to gather more info from my Grandfather.

    Kind Regards, Gillan
