Hi, I'm a total Noob so I'm sorry if I'm going about this the wrong way. I recently bought an RAF jacket from a vintage shop because it reminded me of my great grandfather (who was RAF) and my sister, who is writing a novel, would like to write its owner into it. The surname is Bartlett and under the name 'A8131202' is written, which I assume is a serial of some kind but I really don't know what I'm doing- as I'm sure you can tell- and would really appreciate any help.

Hi Lauren, and welcome to the forum!

It would be helpful to see the jacket. Please post some pics.

Re the number: This will be the airmans service number: being such a high number, this will be very much post WW2.

    Cheers, Ade.
