Thanks , yeah my nanna worked for the thrift shop or we call them the op shop here. She must of got it way back many years ago and put it in with my coin collection.
Its so funny Bill asked my nannas name and said " I was once a fine looking sailor and had many women all around the place maybe i gave it to her as a gift" haha What a legend! he then acually rememberd loosing it while shifting houses in the 1970's. Lost a box of personal belongings. Somehow it ended up at the op shop and my nanna found it the i got it and had the erge to find the owner or family. had no ide i was holding a piece of a shot down Japanese zero let alnone finding the original sailor from WW2. Wow, still blows me away. What a top bloke aswell! Honour to meet a true hero. just like my pop. men like that were a different breed to the guys today. I have so much respect no matter what country they faught for even nazi's
