In the first pictures, its an interesting Konigs Tiger, apparently Waffen SS, LSSAH, was knocked out by a Sherman Firefly in Normandy

The curator told me an interesting story about the Koings Tiger

Apparently it suffered gearbox failure, quite common for these I have read. It was then attacked by a Sherman and hit 3 times, I have taken pictures of the damage, the occupants kept on firing from the beast until they ran out of ammunition, they then came out of the tank and were captured by the French Resistance and lined up and shot

Cant confirm how true this is of course

Great monument.
The rangers did more than the point du hoc they were involded in many other battles.
