Nice work, good to see it going back to his family, and im also glad to see other people having an interest in their family history, this seems to be something that is dying out
Heartwarming.

Hi
My husband is Ronald James Cavanaghs grandson.
I would like to post on here to thank Aussie Mick for his wonderful generousity in returning the Mk 2 helmet to our family.
We met on the weekend and now have the helmet home.
What a wonderful man you are. It will be treasured for many generations to come.
Thanks again Michael, and nice to have finally met you, after many emails and phone conversations.

An older Veteran with wife and young sons and a little girl-exempt from service, but Still patriotic and wanting to aid his country in it's terrible time of need. To still die in an awful and mysterious tragic accident, leaving his loved ones behind to struggle on when they needed him most. Tales like these are the "little stories" of war that are rarely told. Great job investigating and even greater to track down the man's direct family today and to reunite his effects with them! Superb job,Mick!
