    I searched here and found no one listed with that name. He may well be listed as "missing".

    No he is buried at the cementary in Hamm (Luxembourg). He was at the 26th Infantry an died in Boevange. Yes I have his helmet, I will post it in a few days. I 'm going to reveive the papers from the cementary this week!

    I have searched the database for the Hamm Cemetary:

    I can only find two men with the surname of Charles in Luxembourg:

    CHARLES DRAPER J PFC 13036132 26-Dec-44 LX
    CHARLES MILFORD J PFC 33399280 19-Mar-45 LX

    So what is the 3553? Normaly the last 4 numbers of his serial number?

    Yes, GI's would often mark clothing etc with the last four numbers of their serial number.
