    I got this helmet in today and found a service number and name but I’m hav8 g trouble reading the name and number. The helmet is a Vietnam era m1 helmet and liner.

    I would say that the first name is Thomas. Not sure about the serial number though.

    I believe the helmet maybe a reissue, I don’t thing the SN is for a Officer and the helmet I have did belong to a Officer(will post the whole helmet later) and you will understand. So I maybe running a rabbit trail.

    2. Name is of the first Vet.
    3. Service number starts with a 51. 51 is for Connecticut
    4. Vet is from Connecticut
    5. Correct age for 1960’s service

    Reissued to Officer after fact.
    Do not know if they were regular army or reserves.

    Not him did not double check last name, different spelling.

    He was no great age when he passed, it seems to add up. One to try and research into further I would say.
