Thanks Tony, that was my original feeling with the colors of the ribbon but the language on the crosses does not look Italian. Hopefully someone who can read the writing might have a clue as to what it it.

    Thanks

Perhaps one of the moderators could fine a better place to put this if it's not Polish. Itialian perhaps?? It was a bring back item from a WWII vet who served from Italy clear into Germany.

    Thank you

What about Hungarian? Red, white and green are traditional national colours in Hungary.

The Veteran was American. I don't have much more information other than he served in Europe. I will see if I can get some more information. Seeing that no one has recognized this as a military item I'm leannig towards some kind of religious item. Without being able to read what the medals say it's hard to tell.

    Thanks
    Burt

Thanks Burt. I was asking in order to determine the best destination for your question. It looks like the Western Allies History and Research may be worth a try

    Best wishes,
    Tony

Does the bottom cross have the date 1910 on it? Might be civilian item as Vets brought back anything that was not nailed down include pre war items. I have some vet bring back civilian badges that were early post WWII bring backs that date from the 1920's etc...
    Regards,

    Jerry

    Whatever its just an opinion.
