What uniform type, R.A.F?

I am helping a friend of mine doing some family research and he came across this relative wearing this wartime uniform, but is it R.A.F?

Hi Vegar, it is RAF. He is the rank of Airman (Private)

He is wearing service dress and the beret.

The photo could be late war or early post war.

I have shown both the SD jacket and beret on the forum from my collection.

My friend is wondering if there is any way to identify the unit from this picture?

No sorry. RAF uniform was very plain and had no unit distinctions.

Has that look of "National Service" period (Post war - early 50's) to me for some reason .....
