    A friend has been offered this bike via pictures,at the moment seller says no identifying data plates,i thought R71 based on air filter atop engine but fuel tank has scalloped knee cutouts i have not seen on any other german bike,it has a side car with it with steib script pressed into the metal with out any border,can anyone help ?

    no id plates,strange tank,could this be a stolen machine altered?

    its allegedly a been in the family 25 years and being sold after a death so hopefully more detailed description will follow.

    Absolutley not!

    This is a post-war Russian Dnepr. BMW R75 is not a flat head, doesn't have rear suspension, has a differential on the final drive, the frame is bolted together. Wheels are 16 inch. Just not like this at all!

    Hmmm, 95% of BMW R71 are fake. The Russians made a close copy/clone/licence version of this machine. There are more R71's in existence today than BMW built! Join a group like Kradriders on Yahoo. My fellow members will tell you the truth on any offer you get.
