Hi Joe, good question?

The original 251's had petrol engines. The Czech postwar clone, the OT-810, had Tatra diesel engines.

If I remember correctly, they didn't perform quite as well, but were reasonably efficient enough.

I'd reason to believe that the generators wouldn't stand up to the rigors of combat as well... much more stuff hanging off the vehicle to get shot off, too!

Hi Joe, these vehicles were only really intended for use in the training schools, but come the end I guess everything was pushed to the frontline. Or the frontline came to them....
