    Powerful image. How defeated and forlorn a destroyed tank looks. From fortress to crematorium in a split second of high explosive.

    My Uncle Lawrence was a medic in the King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry and part of 5th Division during World War 2. He told me the very worst part of his job was dealing with knocked out tanks and the remains of their crews. Imagine that - whatever side they were on.

    Ron, Yes he took the pict. He had 100s of photos that he took in WW2, A lot from Italy and Southern France...I'll post some more.. Again Southertn France out side of Marsalies. My father on the right with 1928 Thompson sub machinegun..... BILL

    Great looking Mom Bill! They make a nice couple to boot! I'll have to post a photo of my Mother and Father(in uniform) from back in those days.He was in the Navy in WW2. Ron
