Thought shall be the harder , heart the keener,
Courage the greater as our strength faileth.
Here lies our leader ,in the dust of his greatness.
Who leaves him now , be damned forever.
We who are old now shall not leave this Battle,
But lie at his feet , in the dust with our leader

Fantastic Paul! I have just bought a panzer IV link, as soon as it arrives I'll post some pics. These things are great additions to a collection and fantastic conversation pieces.
I pulled these pics off flea bay, this is what I've bought.
Paul, are the guide horns on your link original? They don't appear to have the same surface texture as the rest of the link. Are they welded on rather than being a part of the original casting? The profile of the horns doesn't seem to match the ones on mine, which widen to a much wider triangle when viewed edge on.

G'day mate, the bloke I've bought it from says that it is from an old battlefield at Auvere / Sinimae in eastern Estonia. He says that they found the remains of several destroyed tanks and a crashed Russian aeroplane in a remote swampy region in that area. I'm very much looking forward to it's arrival.
I was deep in the Auwere Bridgehead this time last week and among other things have brought back a Panzer IV Track link if yours is from the same area it's likley it was from Panzer Abt Feldherrnhalle , which digger did you buy it from ??

Weird - maybe it's just the odd angle in the photo. The horns look welded on rather than part of the casting - and the different rust colour and pattern around them makes it look even more like someone recently wirebrushed that area. I quite often see links for sale with rewelded horns (my own Panther link has one horn liked this) but I don't understand why so many see to be broken off...
