Sd. Kfz. 251 Wheels

Article about: Ah...it seems it's "relic-day" day for me... One more question: Can you guys confirm for a fact, that these are "NSU Kettenkrad HK 101 SdKfz 2" wheels? Or maybe another S

    Hello Everyone,

Today I have just finished my third wheel, I will be starting a production line next. Now relaxing and armed with a beer admiring my handy work. But credit should be given to forum star Granatwerfer who I kindly got the wheel from, and who did the really hard work of welding a new centre ring and filling in the post war holes. So great thanks to him! I hope you will be able to see his work in the pictures below!Sd. Kfz. 251 WheelsSd. Kfz. 251 WheelsSd. Kfz. 251 WheelsSd. Kfz. 251 WheelsSd. Kfz. 251 WheelsSd. Once again thank you to Granatwerfer.

You are most welcome Jonathan, but I do not merit such high praise.

As opposed to starting yet another new thread just for a couple of photos, I thought that this would be the most relevant place to post this recently acquired SdKfz 9 wheel. Although lacking the tyre, it is still the biggest wheel in my collection, just edging out the Panther. I've included another half track wheel (previously posted in this thread) for scale.

Yes - drop that on your foot and you'd know all about it.......

The SdKfz 9 is often overlooked - all the glamour goes to the 250 & 251 series.

That’s probably because there’s no lock-up big enough for a set!

We should all remember........ SdKfz 9’s matter

Hi Guys - it's been a while - I have a question: Am I correct to think, that the both rows of holes on this (I seen many like this one) Sd.Kfz.250 wheel is factory done?

Here are some random internet finds with same 2 rows of screw-holes:

...and while I'm here - another question: The smaller round object on the left side on these photos - is it part of a Sd.Kfz. vehicle? If it is, which part?
