I have just acquired a nice pile of spanners and tools used here in Jersey during the German Occupation. After the Occupation they were dumped in the German tunnels here and sealed up for a number of years. Some of the spanners are near perfect others are a little worse for wear but they came from various pieces of artillery used here by the Germans. I will be keeping some for my collection but others will have to go as I don't need them all but thought you might like to see them. As you can see by the 12 inch/30 cm ruler some of them are quite a size and impressive just because of that alone.
I hope you enjoy the pictures of something you don't see every day.
    All the best from Jersey,

Amazing that the stencilling has survived on the side of the box spanner, thanks for showing,

I guess it was just down to luck, some of the spanners have rust issues and others are pretty good. It just depends on how they were stored. Many people went into the tunnels looking for souvenirs and tipped the contents of boxes all over the floor of the tunnel, and from there condition was dictated by when it was picked up and removed from the tunnel. Needless to say there is next to nothing left there now.

If anyone has any info on any of the spanners as to what they were used on or for it would be great to hear from you. I know they are all gun orientated but anything extra would be of interest.
